Inspired by Singapore's stunning multicultural mix, Lion City 1 combines inspiration from some of the most iconic watchmakers that lived.
The famous Helix Bridge, representing the Republic's unique DNA, is incorporated on the back.

The multi-faceted, opulent dial is the LC-1’s most technical aspect. It's designed to give the illusion of depth and complexity, while achieving a light, pleasing visual balance through symmetry.

Black and white mother-of-pearl dials were chosen specially for the LC-1. The black dials impart a blue/green shine under light, while white dials reflect iridescent. As every mother-of-pearl piece sports unique colour tones, each watch is one-of-a-kind.

The LC-1 features a raised and stepped sub dial at the 6 o’clock position. There are two variations: a 24-hour dial, or a sun and moon dial. The customised sun and moon disc sits within a subtle ring indicator and is individually finished with a mix of polish and bead blasting for contrast against the main dial.

LC-1 is the one of the world’s only watches to have a transparent power reserve indicator. To preserve dial symmetry, the date movement was moved from the 3 to the 12 o’clock position. A transparent polycarbonate indicator gives the illusion of an unobstructed date window.
LUME
The luminous dial contains Swiss-made C1 Super-LumiNova, which is a non-toxic luminous paint charged by light. It does not require batteries. The hour markings each have a roman numeral cut-out, filled with Super-LumiNova, to ensure legibility.
HANDS
The LC-1 boasts polished Dauphine hands. This type of watch hand was first used in the 1940s and features a faceted, tapered triangular shape and a distinctively beveled middle. Versions with a 24-hour sub dial feature a custom guillotine hand.
DIAL

LC-1's dial ambitiously combines the concepts of applied indices and a sandwich dial, featuring separate hour markings with cut-outs in each hour segment.
It simultaneously evokes structures rising from the dial base, and different levels cut from stacked dials.
The dial is made from 20 different components, each engineered to ensure structural integrity.
It relies on an innovative metal caging to act as a stencil for individual parts.
This caging reinforces each hour marking, minimising the risk of misalignment, and giving the dial a degree of opulence.
COMPONENTS

The Japanese Miyota 9132 calibre – a reliable and precise workhorse movement from the venerable 9-series Miyota – is the heart that powers the LC-1.
It boasts a modern 4Hz frequency, 40-hour power reserve, capable of manual winding, and a hacking seconds hand beating at 28,800bph. Each individual rotor is signed. The movement finishing is Côtes de Genève.

The watch case incorporates architectural lines typical of the art deco period. It's available in silver or bronze, both made of 316L stainless steel (The bronze features an additional PVD coating) with a high polish finish. Grooves are textured with fine bead-blasting.
The exhibition caseback pays homage to Singapore’s iconic Helix Bridge, while the octagonal crown presents a mix of high polish and bead-blasting finishes, topped with the Arcturus “A”.
THE CASE
THE GLASS
Double-domed sapphire crystal protects the delicate watch face. This type of glass, historically used in dive watches, commands a high price due to its superb quality and scratch resistance.
Unlike the single-domed version, the glass on the LC-1 boasts both a domed top and underside, eliminating distortion so the dial appears magnified yet sharp. It is also coated with an anti-reflective layer to minimise glare and increase dial readability.

A 2018 Kickstarter project, LC-1 was fully backed within one hour of launching.
Over the entire campaign, it garnered almost S$100,000 in backing.
Today, the watch belongs to an exclusive group of collectors in 15 countries, including the US, UK, and Japan.
